Already Credentialed by Another Board?
If you hold a current credential from another recognized board, you can apply for the equivalent IBHBOT credential. If you completed another provider’s introductory hyperbaric course, the board can review it in place of the IBHBOT course. The board reviews your credential or course, your license and your documents.

Completed Another Provider’s Introductory Course?
If you completed an introductory hyperbaric medicine course from another provider and do not yet hold a credential, the board can accept that course in place of the IBHBOT course. If it is accepted, you apply for the credential your license supports and sit the IBHBOT board exam like any other candidate.
The course must
---
Be at least 40 contact hours
Cover every content area of the IBHBOT Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine course (see the module list)
End with a final examination
Have been completed within 3 years before you apply
The board decides which outside courses it accepts and may set further conditions. A course that does not meet these requirements is not accepted. In that case, take the IBHBOT course at an approved training site.
